Changing Mod Title - Game Icon
« on: July 12, 2020, 04:25:59 pm »
Hey y'all! Long time lurker first time poster.
I have some experience modding with Source, but since the version Bloodlines uses is sort of unique I had a read-through of the very handy ModDev Guide by Dheu, tho I still have a couple of questions regarding to customizing/working on my own mod.

-01.: How do I go about changing the game's icon?
And I don't mean like, the desktop shortcut, ideally I'd like to change the icon that shows up on the task bar once you launch the game/.exe.
I know the Unofficial Patch has accomplished this. I can edit vtmbup-small.bmp in my VtM:B folder but I'm curious what defines this image as the .exe icon and if I can replicate that.

-02.: How do I get my game window to display a custom title?
Again, in the taskbar, instead of having it be "Vampire: Bloodlines" I'd want it to say something custom like "Vampire: Zvengali's Mod" or whatever. Is that even possible?

Thank you kindly in advance, any help and input would be majorly appreciated!

I can only answer your first question. This is done by the installer, not anything in the patch! I don't know if the second one is possible and I would not recomment to do it anyway. Bloodlines is Bloodlines and not something else. The Final Nights already annoyed me a lot because it was pretending it's a different game which it's not...

Oh gotcha, thank ya kindly for the response!

And yee, Final Nights has pretty hammy about constantly saying how unlike Bloodlines it is and how it's totally a new game. 😂
