Shucks, haven't played this game in years and the Camarilla Edition seemed really cool! Will stick with playing Unofficial Patch 8.4 (which is still awesome!) for now.

How about uploading it to moddb.com or some other place such as mediafire.com etc? Just finished a playthrough with 8.4 to see the Library level, and would love to do another playthrough with CE 1.6, but can't as the download doesn't seem to be available anywhere with GameFront not working. :)

Edit: It seems GameFront is not working because I live in Sweden (They had a long list of countries from where you're not able to download off their server for some odd reason)

I will not upload anything to ModDB anymore, for various reasons. As far as I'm concerned that site is dead.
And if the info I got along with the downloading troubles for the patch right, ModDB is also depenedent on gamefront for international downloads.

Mind to share your reasons? Because I'm just starting to move my patches and mods there. I know that some people on Moddb "steal" other people's mods and offer them without asking for permission. But up until now I could always persuade those guys to remove them if I wanted to do my own mod pages there...

Indeed, but if you register with Moddb you get access to their Desura mirrors and those seem to work in more countries that GameFront does now.

My reasons mostly are pure personal. I don't like the mass of advertizing they have, and all the stuff you need to get your upload done, like you need a picture, you need a short introduction, you need a longer text as well... It's just too annoying for my taste. And if they think, you didn't put enough efort in the looks of an annoucement, or it's "not relevant", people can only see the announcement on the site of the mod itself. I think, they have more interest in the looks than in the content, and I don't like that.

I disagree, because they offer so many things! Still this will only be an intermediate solution for me anyway, because The Patches Scrolls is working on getting their own servers, then we will all be independent from both GameFront and Moddb :)!

Malkav I understand your reasoning about Moddb so don't worry about that, just figured I'd check. I personally got around it now by using a VPN and downloading from gamefront, but I figure it'd still be nice to have some other option aswell when one can be found, since the list of countries that gamefront has banned lately is quite large sadly

Indeed, and I really wonder why they did this. I mean Sweden, France, Italy, Spain and most of the Eastern European countries! Russia, India, Japan and most of Southern America! What is their problem? I never had the impression that GameFront was used for illegal purposes, compared to some other download services...

If it's really that bad with gamesfront, I will have to think about something else. Especially since I intend to start on a final CE version, including the library and more complete presence dialog options according to the rules I have set up for CE 1.6.
Wesp, can you please contact me if there are any serious problems with the library.

So ModDB is not completely dependent on the gamefront servers? Then I think I'll have to go that way, at least for now. If someone has other ideas for servers to use, please post them here, or send me a pm.

As with 8.4.2 there are no serious problems with the library left. I made the critical cutscene a little bit shorter to work better after reloading and I hope that burgermeister will fix the few texture issues, but that's it.

I think if you are registered you get a Desura server link too :)!

Can confirm this, downloaded UOP 8.4.2 fine from there once I had registered. :)

I have uploaded CE 1.6 to ModDB, waiting for approval

EDIT: The upload is authorized now, and can be downloaded from the Camarilla Edition page on ModDB.

If there continues being a problem with hosting the UP or other major mods, I can now afford to take the site back to dedicated hosting, but it's a last resort. I don't want the community to die.

So let's ask around.
From Germany I can download from both, GamesFront and PatchesScrolls now.
