Well forgive me if it seems somewhat cliche or whatever but I'd say Dementation could be somewhat 'mad' not in a jokey comic sense but like unpredictable. Sometimes Dementation might even have a negative effect on you though if its a positive effect it could be greater than any other Discipline.

I read that Dementation doesn't allow the user to choose the visions and images which are inflicted upon the victim. Dementation simply amplifies or draws from whatever is already present.
So your suggestions aren't cliche at all and they sparked some ideas. Thanks!

It was a cool movie, but bringing it up as an example of prequel to sequel consistency is just plain wrong! According to NH the plans were transmitted, in R1 they were physically delivered.

That's true, there's this exchange:

Quote
VADER: Where are those transmissions you intercepted? What have you done with those plans?
REBEL OFFICER: We intercepted no transmissions. Aaah... This is a consular ship. We're on a diplomatic mission.

And also:

Quote
VADER: Don't play games with me, Your Highness. You weren't on any mercy mission this time. You passed directly through a restricted system. Several transmissions were beamed to this ship by Rebel spies. I want to know what happened to the plans they sent you.

But keep in mind there's also this:

Quote
MOTTI: Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes, or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebel's hidden fort--

So Rogue One needed a way to have the Death Star plans be both "intercepted transmissions" sent by Rebel spies, and also "stolen data tapes."

I think the solution they came up with was pretty good. Rebels steal the "Stardust" data drive, broadcast the data on the drive to the Rebel fleet, and then that transmission is handed to the crew of the Tantive IV in the form of a data card (they tried to match the one seen in A New Hope which Leia inserts into R2-D2).

Quote
In R1 there was no way Vader could have followed the Tantive IV according to the old SW universe rules.

Ah, but they don't have to play by those rules anymore. ;)

Overall yes, but the last sequence with Vader inside the flagship on the way to the Tantive IV broke it all! And was only a huge we-have-cool-Vader-fighting-inside-trick to get more viewers anyway...

Oh, but they should because this is what made SW different to ST for example, where they were no real rules!. For example just after two new movies ships can jump in and out of atmospheres, even through shields, which already makes most of the cool fights of the first movies illogical. And don't get me started on Jedi-Emo who is powerful enough to keep a blaster bolt in midair without effort, but get's beaten by first time lightsaber user Falcon-Girl both in sword fight and mental combat! They are already destroying the universe here for me! Also Luke needed three movies and a cut off hand to be able to beat Vader and now this. This is bad storytelling in every possible way, besides just copying the old movies all over anyway...

How cool would it be if it turned out we played as a vampire who gets killed at the beginning of Bloodlines (the one who embraces the main character)

Quote
Actually, that was my original idea when I started working on this mod, but in an attempt to turn this into a kind of community project I decided to go for a new playercharacter. Most people didn't like the fact that there could only be one possible ending. I'm totally with you! I also like that kind of prequels or parallel story arcs that perfectly fit into the main story.

I thought either that or we could play as one of the vampires who rush to the apartment with Bloodlines' main character and the other which would be a surprise last objective in Prelude. You nixing these ideas makes me kinda sad :'( but I'm still super excited about this "expansion pack". Can't wait for more details !

I suppose there isn't any news, because you were busy working in UP 9.8?
Hype don't let me sleep... haha

While I was indeed working on 9.8, I'm not the creator of this mod, I only help out with some minor maps. I don't know myself what EntenSchreck did in the meantime ;)!

The Prelude is a Mod being worked on by Entenschreck with some help from Wesp and possibly others. It will use Bloodlines assets and will be build on Bloodlines but will not extend the story-line of Bloodlines rather it will take place before Bloodlines. It will concern a Hunter who is embraced, who will be involved in events that will set up the events in Bloodlines.

Hey guys,
sorry for not posting anything in a while. I had my final exam a few weeks ago (passed ) and I've had a hard time getting back to modding Bloodlines. That doesn't mean that I haven't worked on the prequel at all, though. It's just taken me some time to get back at it.
Glad to see that people are still interested and to make up for the recent silence, I took a few screenshots of some maps in Hammer.
One new location is this oil rig. If you played Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, you might recognise it. I pretty much copied the layout
I thought it might be interesting for you to see a bit of the process of mapping, so I included that first Screenshot. This is what you start with. Just a few grey blocks to help you get a sense of the scale and test paths through the level. Everything else is just swapping these grey blocks for more detailed geometry.

PV says I can't attach more than ten files, so here we go with a second post.
The first two images show the inside of the church, which is supposed to be the PC's haven. It's still in developer textures, but I guess you get at least a bit of an idea of that place.
Next up is the hub. I heavily changed the area on the right and went for a whole new design for the nightclub. That nightclub actually exists in Los Angeles. It's called "The Factory".
The last three screenshots show what started as a test for the time travel mechanism. I'm still not entirely sure about where to use it, but I definitly want to have it. And here you can see how it's done. You simply copy your map and paste it let's say 1536 Units below. Now you just need a command which teleports the PC either 1536 Units up or down. Done.
The last screenshot is a picture of that map in Bloodlines. I tried to make it look like that tunnel from the Visage gameplay demo.

Hope you like my stuff!

Looks nice! Even if a bit artificial, it's a matter of textures and some detailes, but the whole construction seems neat. Now I only wonder how the PC as a hunter is going to actually survive, because vampires all all way stronger as we smash through hunters in VtMB. ;) They have chances only with heavy gunfire and in packs! I also hope that the plot is witty and thoroughly reconsidered, and I won't come upon some loophole :)
