MaxusCorvin looking forward to reading/seeing/playing that story. happy

I've actually posted some of it in the Fan Creations section. I've done a lot more than I've posted, though I'm posting chapters after I finish them and polish them. I've taken several liberties with it, merely because I don't have the limitations of the game engine and such to tell the story(don't need new voice actors, models, etc). I didn't mean I was making it a mod, only that a Trial for LaCroix would be close enough to a mod that it wouldn't fit with the Unofficial Patches. Maybe something that would be compatible with them, but the most I myself can do presently in the game is editing textures.

Ah, I was gonna mention in the last post ... if anyone, yourself included, is interested in helping testing CQM 2.0, just shoot me a PM. I'm going to be offline for maybe as long as a week, but once I get back on, hopefully the next test version would be available relatively quickly.

Here's a hint: you can find my personal email in the older CQM editions. Take a look at that, find the email, drop me a note, and we'll figure something out  grin

Indeed. It's a quest that comes later in the game (most of them are). The very soonest you can get it is after Isaac directs you to King's Way. Then you can talk to him again, sort out the matter with the gargoyle, then come back to Strauss for the quest.

Have you checked out the new way of installing mods yet?  The new way allows a person to play a mod without overwriting the files in your VTMB installation and instead you can install in a directory underneath the VTMB directory.  Below is the link to the thread about this and from my testing (with CQM 1.2) it works perfectly.

PS.  Could I test CQM 2.0? (I wan't to test it along with the new way of installing mods) I was going to PM you but I couldn't and for some reason my email hasn't been working right for the last few days.

I asked Wesp but he doesn't think he can do anything with the scene of the cinematic of the player jumping from Grout's Mansion seems to end too soon. Just as the camera starts to get a look at the players face. Can you make it last a bit longer like 10 seconds, wouldn't it be nice to see the player stand up with the burning building behind them, it's always a powerful metaphor in movies?

Hey,I'll see what I can cook up, and get back to you. Also, just FYI, I *did* get rid of the cut scene that occurs just before the werewolf attack (the one in which the player walks goofily up to Nines).

And I'm glad you resurrected this topic because I wanted to ask you: previously, when you indicated that the Lilly cut scene was funky, what did you mean exactly? I noticed that everything looked pretty much the same for male/female characters except for after Lilly leaves and the PC walks to the door to address Vandal. Is that the funkiness you're talking about? I think that may be the model itself, but let me know.

I did NOT see that yet, but WOW! I have to run for a bit, but I'll post something with a little more context in that thread later tonight.

My first impression about this though is that it changes everything and nothing at all  grin

As for testing CQM 2.0, see if you can get your email working. I don't want to publish links to the unfinished files.

I believe the problem with that scene is where the camera faces the player, and for the female models, it seems the model is stretched. It doesn't look so bad when the player releases Lily(which the cuffs you open, aren't really there, I think), but its just that one view that is affected.

Okay, I know exactly what you're talking about now. I took a quick stab at this and found out the following:

As far as I can tell the reason for the distortion is embedded into the models' animations, so unfortunately, there's no straight forward way to fix this, because we can't edit the animations as far as I know.

I was however, able to change the camera angle, and expand the shot to underemphasis this "weirdness" -- although it does subtract from the scene's dramatic effect a bit.

Take a look for yourself, and let me know what you think, or if you have other suggestions:

Filefront is being really slow tonight so be patient; also that means the upload could have been easily botched = / Let me know either way.

Would it be possible to change what animation it uses, or do the player models use a specified template for that scene? If the animation could be changed to a different one, I'd suggest using the normal idle animation for the females. Of coruse, it might not make the player seem interested about what's happening, but it would obviously look better than it does now.

And I have to ask about this - the scenes for the two tapes, is it just me, or does the geography of the house the tapes imply, seriously odd? As in, the girl runs up the stairs, and into a room(without closing the door), across that room into another, and when she closes that door, you can see that she just came out of the bathroom, rather than the bedroom you just saw. I could be of a bit, but its just the upstairs part that is odd. Unless I'm missing the fact that the rooms all connect with the bathroom.

That's loosing too much in my opinion. Bloodlines' cutscenes are not the best all around but I can live with them the way they are.

burgermeister01 that's a pretty good cut actually and very cool work to remove that Griffin Park scene. happy

What about removing the Player all together if we can't clean up the animations and Wesp doesn't really like this idea?

I wonder if there is a script timer on the camera view of the player, which could be extended. Otherwise I am not to sure how it would know to release control to player once the face looks up.
