Animal Companion?
« on: April 22, 2019, 04:01:15 PM »
Would anyone know how to add companions?
I have the idea of somehow making my Gangrel character being able to ghoul an animal companion (adopting a rottweiler/pitbull at the Junkyard), would this be possible or is it rather easier to summon through Animalism instead?
I might even be way over my head as I barely know much at all on coding but thought it be worth to try at least, but bear with me that I'm a scrub.

Well, after I've completed my 7 new clans mod (almost done) I was planning to restore the companion mod and make it more compact and functional (only very few companions choices, no possession and haven posing since they were left with some issues, rework the dialogs, ....). Adding an animal might be an interesting touch (but I have no idea on the how....)

If someone really wants to do this they should take a look at the Antitribu Mod in which I think you can summon animals to fight alongside the player.

Looking forward to see the new clans coming along, specially character models such as Mattias Nilsson will be awesome!
Yeah Heather and Yukie are not a big amount of choices, do you mean to restore it into the regular corruption path of making Cainite/Kindred characters into companions or more Embrace/Ghoul options? Looking forward to it anyhow! :)

Ah yeah I've totally missed the Animalism in Antitribu as I primarily played Lasombra and Giovanni, Nagaraja.
I shall certainly give it a look, thank you!

Since I saw it on antitribu I knew I had to make it a PC

I had a few ideas for other companions: Damsel*, the junkyard slasher, Tourette (no Jeanette or Therese), Pisha, Barabus, Romero, Ash and VV. These with Heather and Yukie sounds like a simple and yet perfect selection.

* (then if she is on your team and you need to find out where Nines is hiding the original mod had a workaround with a new extra dialog with Jack)

About the recruiting of the companions (and your behavior): the original mechanic, having two particular item, was made way before the UP used all the unused item slots the game can use (hardcoded to a limit) so it wasn't a problem picking two (plus other two for a weird easter egg about dancing hamsters....).
So I thought completing their missions, regardless for being a nice guy or on total personal interest (and neutral dialogs for further simplicity) should be enough.

If someone really wants to do this they should take a look at the Antitribu Mod in which I think you can summon animals to fight alongside the player.

That's also a solution
