  •                 Is there any big secret I'm missing as to how to add new weapons?

Basically what I'm trying to do, is add 2 new weapons for my character to use, 1 is just a more powerful version of the knife, with agro damage, and the other is a supped up glock with a charged alt fire (slower fire but hugh agro damage).

I've duplicated the original item_w_knife.txt and item_w_glock_17c.txt in \Vampire\vdata\items and renamed them item_w_dark_knife.txt and item_w_dark_glock.txt respectively, and changed the stats to what I wanted, but the game isn't picking them up using the give command in console.

I also tried adding a ref to them in \Vampire\vdata\system\vendors.txt, hoping I could instead buy them from the pawnshop etc. but they don't appear in the vendor window either.

Is there some file I need to edit for the game engine to detect them?

I know I could simply edit the original glock and knife files and use them, but I assume npc's will get the same benefits, and I don't particularly want cops using my supercharged agro glocks against me / thugs knifing me!

You can't add new weapons in Bloodlines, you can only replace or edit existing ones.

Unlike some other rpg's Bloodlines has a set number of items that it will accept, and adding new ones is somewhat impossible. It is possible to simply replace something, which in your case you'd want to replace something that no NPC uses, such as possibly the Bush Hook(which no NPC uses, as far as I know) for the edited knife, or one of the firearms(not sure of which), for the edited Glock.

Thanks for the info, got it working fine now, just replaced the contents of the bubblegum and stake files with the item data for my weaps, cause lets face it, the daydreamer quest while funny, is hardly crucial to the games completion grin

Edit: scratch that, items showed up in the right sections of the inventory, but weren't usable... guess I will have to swap a weapon file instead plain
