I love Gary too, one of my favorite characters. He has a great humor, which is the best, when you play as a Malkavian and think, that Gary is one of the voices in your head.
The world needs more Gary.

The world needs an ending siding with Gary

Yes, that would be great :)

Which probably is the reason why Bloodlines 2 has a "Nosferatu" faction :)!

Siding with Gary Golden is an interesting option, but I doubt that he has any inclination to do so or aspirations to bother himself with the entire city - reign is not in the Nossie blood I think. He is content with ruling his own realm, controlling what goes around it and preserving the statues quo for his own ends. Maybe shoot some flicks in the future, but ruling L.A. is a bit out of his comfort zone.

From the books I have read, Nossies frown upon those things, preferring to broker information and enjoying all the perks that come with it. They are content to stay in the shadows.

From the overall impression that I got in the game, Gary is not someone who would risk his own position, especially in the turbulent L.A. scene where reigns of princes and barons are largely short in my opinion. There is virtually no reason to endanger his position when he can profit from it all.

Siding with Gary doesn't mean, that he becomes the next prince, just that maybe you help him and the Nosferatu.
And I do remember that there was a Nosferatu prince in one of the books, but I don't remember in which one I have read it.

That would be an interesting turn of events, even if you side with Gary on the grounds to work for him.

Then the interesting thing would be who would be the next prince or what will happen in the immediate future. I suppose that it would make sense that his affiliation remains to the Cam or at least to be an autarkis, but I am not familiar with his fate under the revolution that Jenna Cross made.

However, the point of the final sequence is for the player to chose his side, not workplace, so I think that Gary should fall under the Cam authority, simply due the precious protection and the "attention" they get from the Cam. It would be a nice twist, since he would be a proxy.

However, if those sub-allegiances ever come to fruition, for my part I would like to see one where you get to ally yourself with Isaac, to me he is far more interesting and a bit more down to earth on business matters.

Isn't this the Anarch ending of the game? Sure, you meet Nines in person, but he works together with Isaac. He even mentions that Isaac gives him the protection he needs! I would have liked to place him at the Chateau Hotel but sadly he has no dialogue to be used in the endgame...

I think, the Nosferatu are their own authority mostly. That's something, I hope, the second game will get right. And even the Camarilla wasn't united in Bloodlines. You had LaCroix on one side and Strauß on the other side. Then the Nosferatu, who obviously were doing their own thing. You could argue, that LaCroix was basically a traitor, but he was the official prince for the time of the game.

@Fylimar

I agree, Nossies are pretty individualistic, but they have a long-standing alliance with the Camarilla. That is why I thought that it would be appropriate to stay with the Cam even if you chose to remain/work with Gary, plus considering the quirks of Gary and the prestige that his position affords him.

@Wesp5

I am aware of the ending, but it would've been nice to talk with the boss himself wouldn't it? :)

In one novel, after the Prince of NY City has the second death, a Nossie takes his place but they offered it to a Toreador first (Victoria Ash) who said no.  I'm not as well read as some others here but that is the only one I remember.
