The end is NOT here :(

So I"m running unofficial patch 10.5 and the voice of "The End is Here" sign guy in Santa Monica, is silent. Is this an intentional change? It's been so long since I installed the patch I forget if perhaps this was an optional feature I turned on.

Can you please check the console and post any Python errors here from the time when you found the prophet silent?

Wesp, it did happen again with my fresh install. Not at first, but eventually. Note that I alt-tab a lot, if that helps, but he was working fine for several hours. There are voluminous messages in the console that might be errors, is there a way to copy it's output to clipboard? I'm not having any luck with the usual methods.

That might be the reason why some people get it and others don't.

Only the Python errors are important and they are usually the last, often the location is marked with ^. Also please look out for something like "Found xxx but can't play"...

I don't see anything with the word Python, unfortunately. Nor do I see a carat symbol. Loading a save next to the guy, I don't see much other than a bunch of static model compile errors for scenery that i assume are innocuous. Here's anything my non-coder mind might interpret as relevant:


Exhausted signon buffer: skipping remaining baselines
Can't find factory for entity: vdisciplineprojectile
NULL Ent in UTIL_PreCacheOther: vdisciplineprojectile
Invalid camera shot index
no anims, pc near npc


PS: I should note that he stops walking when this occurs, although his facial animations and such remain. Loading from many saves previous does not resolve the issue, nor does restarting the game.

I fear my alt-tabbing may have also broken other things. I'm in early Downtown, and my malkavian has yet to interact with any stop signs. I forget exactly when that starts tho. And so far, no speech interactions with the TV, although the unique newscasts are there.

I can't help you with your initial problem.  But I can tell you where the Stop sign is.  It's on the parking lot near the Last Round.

I can help with the tv interaction: it starts after a while on the story (like sometime in the middle)
