Should the developers honour some individuals?
« on: December 28, 2018, 12:04:15 AM »
Greetings,

It is no secret that the Bloodlines game as we know it today is, to a large degree, result of a tireless work of Wesp5, who patched things until the game was truly polished and delightful to play. We all know of Clan Quest mod, which brought unique quests for each clan as well as legendary Dance of the Thrashing Dragon quest. Now,  Burgermeister01 has created a entire new area, new quests, new intriguing characters and at long last a chance to truly join and explore the Sabbat. Individuals such as these two, and there are certain others, in my humble opinion should be honored in future by the developers. If we ever do get a new Vampire The Masquerade game, I do believe that developers should add their names into the game itself. Perhaps a location or a character could be named after these individuals who worked so hard to keep this game alive.

Your thoughts?

That would make their lawyers nervous and might even cause community problems.

some easter eggs would be cool and i do really think they should add them because all of things these people have done for us and for bloodlines and for bloodlines developers.

There actually is a clan called "Wesp" in Bloodlust: Shadow Hunter 2. Coincidence? I think not :)...

Also I think noone must forget Psycho-A. Today there's a lot of mini-mods, changes, etc... a lot of people that start modding in the latest years, because today with the SDK tools is more easy to do it than teen years ago.

Is very sad that paradox doesn't tell about future plans. If another studio had bought the license... perhaps today we'd have a good saga...

I doubt it is a coincidence. Correct me if I am wrong, but do you not do your work for free? Likewise, Burgermeister01 has created Clan Quest for free, out of love for the Bloodlines. Basically, people like you keep this game alive and actually prospering. In my opinion, it would be a nice gesture on the developers side to acknowledge this fact.

Why would it cause community problems?

Leonard Boyarksy said something to that regard already in an interview:

"You know I'm glad, it's - it's fantastic that people have been, you know, modding the thing for 10 years. I love that people found that in it because, you know, the only thing worse than - than going through what we went through would have been if we went out and nobody found any value in it whatsoever. I know a lot of people didn't find value in it but there was a core group of people who think, who thought, it was this great thing and if continued to be dedicated to it which is a... I wouldn't necessarily say that it made it all worthwhile but it takes some of the sting off of it at least."

Did you add this in your mod? If so, the first name of burgermeister is Lee ;)!

Wesp = We Sp = Werner Spahl

Yes, this is in the currently-available release of the X20 Mod. :) I don't have burgermeister in there yet, but I'll probably figure out a way to squeeze him in.

Human nature/past experience.
