My Heather and Yukie Dilemma
« on: September 15, 2012, 06:13:16 AM »
So I have compmod, been playing it for a while and LOVING IT. But I have somewhat of a dilemma actually, in compmod you gain the option to embrace either Yukie or Heather. I REALLY want to embrace heather, but if I do that, it will be short lived since eventually she will die anyway through the story X.X

On the other hand, if I were to save Yukie she would stay forever and her stats would get much better. Its a choice between aesthetics and practicality here. . . plus Yukie is a willing ally so I'm not sure she would agree to being sired anyway.

P.S. I am aware that there is a method of keeping heather from dying in the unofficial patch, but I missed the opportunity already and the dialog option has come and gone >.<

Any suggestions from the userbase? Or any other methods of keeping heather from dying would work too.

Actually, if you do embrace Heather, she won't die. I haven't completely played through with CompMod yet, but I have with the Lite version included with CQM. There, weather you chose to embrace her or not, you do not see her die in the Hallowbrook hotel. I'd assume it is the same way for CompMod, since you could potentially have her with you at the time(Even if she isn't a Vampire).

I actually have the same problem, Is there anyway to mod the mod so that I can embrace both?

What problem? If you have either the CompMod installed, or CQM with the Lite version, you will NOT see heather die in the hotel. It does not matter if you have her with you at the moment(meaning she is one of your current companions), or if she was embraced.

HAMMER dude!

Directly from Dheu:

Two ways, though I dont know the consequences of the first.

If you open up console after embracing your first companion and type:

__main__.G.EmbracedCount=0

You may be able to get away with embracing another without the death
scene. However, I dont remember what else uses that count. If it only
existed for that check, you will be fine. But if it existed for other
checks or data structures, it might break the game.

The other option is to edit the python:

Vampire/Scripts/companion.py

line 1219
        if __main__.G.EmbracedCount > 1 and __main__.G.Story_State < 90:

Change the condition to check for more than 2 (or 3... whatever).

Save the file and when you restart VTMB, it will automatically recompile it.

I have to ask, did you see BOTH of the posts I made? Each saying basically the same thing. Which is, that with either the CompMod, or CQM with the Lite version, YOU WILL NOT SEE HER DIE in the hotel, regardless of her being with you, or if you chose to embrace Yukie instead.

Yeah, and..? We're talking about embracing both people, regardless if heather lives or not!
