Title: Explosive beginning
Post by: Nothingness on April 08, 2019, 12:15:26 AM
I've blown out the warehouse twice and Becket won't show up.  I'm using 10.3RC2 of the unnofficial patch.  I was hiding inside a building, trying to protect myself from the blast, though I came out many times to see if Becket would come, and he never did.

I didn't know one could hide in the building and survive.  Not absolutely sure but I think the trigger is getting close to the ramp before the explosion.

Not hiding in the same building where I put the explosives, the one in front of it.

Try the ramp, the cutscene does take place there after all.

Have you done this before and it worked?

I have found on youtube the entire game and downloaded them all at 720p.  I try not to spoil myself by watching them, since I never finished the game, I think the farthest I reached was Chinatown.  But with the sequel coming, I really want to play it again, and try to finish it this time.  I watched his video about the warehouse quest, and it's obvious I did not go further when I when I got out of the building.  So I went back ingame, and did so and I bumbed into Becket.

I watched the video but --  all it was was some guy trying to decide which clan to choose?  Anyway, it sounds like the problem has been solved?

It's a playlist, you have just seen the first video  :vampwink:

Yes, it's a playlist of 57 videos filmed of the game.  I don't know why it came out like that in my post.  There is a video of the warehouse.  It took me some time to download them all.

Why didn't you lowered the resolution for the download, like 360p or 480p?

Impossible!!!  The link leads to the full playlist,  not one video in particular.  Don't believe me, then look at the attachment I put and see for yourself.   And blame the message board that turned the link in a video.

When I download some youtube videos I use JDownloader2 where I can set the video files to be at a lower resolution. A lifesafer, let me tell you that.

Or I totally misunderstood what you meant?

A little offtop, but I would recommend youtube-dl. Far more reliable and almost always up to date. Easy to use even for a complete rookie, despite being a command line tool.

My new computer has big hard disks, a few.  The one I keep for gaming is 6TB, plenty of space.  I saved them all for nostalgia purpose, but also to help me when I play.  The videos at 720p take 15 GIG.

And I use ClipGrab to download vvideos from YouTube.

Mine was just an example of a download manager which lets you reduce youtube videos in smaller resolution, just for quicker downloads (and sorry for the offtopic....)

My monitor is an FHD 24 inches, 1920X1080 resolution, so saving at small resolutions would look horrible on my monitor, I generally save at 480p or 720p.  I did so with my previous monitor that was smaller, 16-18 inches or so and had a resolution of 1280X720, 1280X1024, could switch between them.  Back then 320p or 480p looked great on my monitor.

Well, if used as a walkthrough I won't mind :P
