Super-high regeneration bug?
« on: October 07, 2018, 05:25:08 PM »
Loving the mod so far. The amount of new weapons and enemies makes the game a lot more enjoyable. I seem to have a little problem though.

This happened shortly after I cheated my way out of the Elizabeth Dane by using god mode (I just can't deal with the buggy stealth in this game unless I'm playing Nosferatu) and god-modded off once I came back to Santa Monica afterward. Following that, my health regeneration went up very high in combat and seems to completely ignore aggravated wounds. I regenerate those as fast as normal wounds. I can't really seem to die unless I am not careful and get combo-ed or one shotted by something.

It's possible that this isn't linked to the god mode console cheat but also the fact I bought and wore tier 2 armor in downtown shortly after the Elizabethan Rendez-Vous quest. I am thus not sure if this is somehow intended, or if it's just a bug.
Also if someone could teach me how to possibly fix it either with console command or editing something in traitseffects000.txt file, I'd be really grateful.

Get a previous savegame and try to not use that cheat (try noclip instead)

I'm actually having the opposite issue with the Giovanni.  Ever since I tried to fight Empire Hotel plagubearer in the room, my health no longer regenerates.  Ended up having to play on God-Mode because I had one hit left before dying and tried everything I could think of to fix the issue.  Didn't bother going back to a previous save and now I'm too far along in China Town to go back and re-do it all again...

If I'm not mistaken there was also a refill health cheat other than "god" or "buddha" but I'm not sure....

I thought so too, but haven't been able to find it in the cmdlist.  Though it was similar to "blood #", but not finding anything...

Usually in these cases I prefer Buddha. While I'm still immortal I can actually see the damage in the health bar so I can still pretend to myself I'm not cheating  I'm too old for playing RPG without cheating

I'm the same way as well, especially for games like this which I've played over and over again.  Sometimes, I'm not caring to do the endless fighting, but more for the conversation and fun little details I may have missed.  Plus yeah, too many requirements on my reflexes.  This is why I hate online games, the younger generation kicks my butt all the time because I'm just too slow

MMORPGs make no sense to me, no matter how intricate they are, any server quickly degenerates into one or two optimal builds, followed by hordes of bots/farmers and game currency for real. Playing them is a work with negative salary, not fun.

Circa 2000-2005 played Lineage II (1-3 chronicles if i remember correctly) on one of the official servers, it was a Korean grind rpg as hard as balls, nearly unexplored back then. No guides, no item drop databases, an opportunity to find and exploit bugs, etc... Due to this, it was interesting for a time. Today, any new MMORPG gets completely explored and owned in the matter of months.

Sadly multiplayer-only will become the rule for videogaming. Otherwise why the likes of ea would push it and silently purging the singleplayer experience if the latter is a game which still can be played (virtually) in a lifetime, or in rare cases even passed through a generation, while the former needs to be replaced when the online base left that thing that can only be called a product?

(I hope it's not a problem the offtopic to spiritquazus and khaos526....)

Nope, as I think I'm just stuck with a corrupt save, but at least I have God Mode to at least play it and see all the new additions...
