Dominate level 5 posesion is not working enought - doubt

I'm playing with my shadow. I get to Level 5 Dominate possession, it is supposed to be the most powerful level. and could even destroy my enemy, but when I apply tieneun only limited effect and then is like nothing. there any way that this discipline influences both vampires and humans. even to them from being destroyed?
or in this case as it could recover the Dominate Discipline, the Original ventrue, and apply it in my lasombra. complete with all its sublevels.
