I'd like to have more than one ghoul (although it should still be a very small number). I would love if we could pick someone that can actually help us through several quests (not in combat, but with info, or by unlocking extra routes).

Same here. Careful though, quality beats quantity in this regard to me.

If it hasn't been announced, I'd like as many thieving-skills as possible. We already have lockpicking but I was wondering about pickpocketing. Would love to have something like that.

Do you mean face customization? Or am I completely off the mark?

Yeah, that's why I mentioned a small number. I feel like, ideally, we'd get a few options, since having some sort of meaningful choice for your "partner" would be nice, but it'd have to be a small selection, or it becomes too complicated and expensive (or they are forced to cut corners). Still, just having one ghoulb, but fleshed out would be great.

I wonder what the mechanics for pickpocketing would be. Just stealthing would be enough? Feels like it might be too easy, that way.

Yeah, face customization! That's the word.

Sometimes it's a mechanic some developers don't want to implement because it has to produce other interactions. If you fail it, do you get caught ? Does it initiate combat ? If you suceed, can you steal anything ? Is any item up for grabs ? Including those that go into quests ?

Still, it's a wonderful mechanic when properly implemented.

In the Fallout games, you could plant bombs, and sometimes you had some scripted events you could trigger (like substituting an oxygen tank with a poisonous one, to kill a mob boss). Robbing people blind was a nice bonus, I guess. XD

Who owns the IP at the moment? Obsidian? If so, maybe in case The Outer Worlds is a success someone there will consider it...

Is it possible to play a mage enjoyably in that game? I dumped dozens of hours into Arcanum in multiple attempts at making mage characters who functioned well and just rage quit every single time because they sucked so bad in fights after the first couple of hours. I think I'm past the point of giving it another try, though. I'm too embittered with the game to glean any pleasure from it at this point. =/

I think you can win any fight as a mage, but you gotta be patient or be willing exploit the system. If you use the harm spell + real time combat, you have pretty much the best dps in the game, but you'll get carpal tunnel syndrome, and might need a break after each fight to restore mana. The combat is broken in all kinds of ways, actually, so I am sure there are really good tactics I don't know about. For the most part, however, magic is great for support and utility, so you might want to recruit as many followers as possible, and support them from the back row. It's vital to get as much exp as possible early on, so you can unlock some of that potential.

I just thought of another feature I'd like to see (I hope it wasn't mentioned already): companions. NPCs whose trust you earn and are willing to join you on your adventures. Obviously it cannot be anyone too high up like a Prince of Primogen, but perhaps a fellow Thin Blood, a ghoul, or another vampire/capable fighter you've helped along the way. Plus, if the framework were in place, adding other characters would probably be easier too, including custom ones.
Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

Companions would be great. I thought a lot of companion potential in Bloodlines 1. Mercurio for example or Bertram or maybe Damsel. Or Romero.
