The reason people hate the remastered version is that not only adds several changes but the director did all in his power to delete from history the original versions and make illegal obtain and possess them. Imagine if disney decides to delete from the market its animated classics and sell only the live action remakes and you can get an idea of this madness....

Okay then, I wasn't sure if you were being sarcastic or not with the previous comment. Sounds  like what I usually hear when people bring this up is true, then. XD

I'd like to have more than one ghoul (although it should still be a very small number). I would love if we could pick someone that can actually help us through several quests (not in combat, but with info, or by unlocking extra routes).

This.  And I would like some of the options to be attractive males.  And maybe make their personalities a little more vibrant.

If I may add... give them (even the female ghouls) a little more independence, like Mercurio and Knox. I genuinely don't like the way VTMB1 sets the relationship between the PC and Heather. I usually automatically set her free because of it; the only reason I'm keeping her through my current play-through is the ability to sire her. She's really not useful at all, and it's sad the way that she's enslaved to you... I didn't get the impression that Knox or Mercurio were remotely enslaved like that.

So yeah... let us have more than one ghoul, but make the ghouls at least feel a little more independent than Heather did...

I agree. I find the relationship between Heather and PC really unhealthy. She has no free will at all. I take someone like Mercurio or Knox anytime over such a weak willed creature. I normally set her free too, because I just can't take it.

I believe the difference lies on her not being a strong person instead of mercurio or knox. She had nothing in her life before meeting the protagonist so she embraced, no pun intended, the blood bond. With this perspective, would anyone cut the only human bond she could ever start in her life?

Yeah I can see what you mean with that, but then I guess I'd prefer it if I had the dialog option to be... I guess... nicer to her. Maybe procure her a haven of her own, encourage her to stay in college, push her to make her own decisions, have a social life... try to build up her self confidence.

I feel like I'm almost forced to take advantage of her, and the way I tend to play (I described it in a different thread... I don't remember if it was here or in the GoG forums or maybe Reddit... but I default to playing the "hero", with a normal-to-high humanity, siding with the anarchs, happily killing Sabbat, thugs, etc, and so on; I have a rather ridiculously guiltily conscience, which honestly dictates how I play the game) sort of goes against that. The way the PC is made to treat Heather genuinely makes me uncomfortable.

So... yeah...

I know you can keep her in college, just refuse her college money

And about the subject of always playing with high humanity, it was with me and it was me the ex-christian now blasphemous dude

I don't want to derail my own thread with a "specialist" conversation on Heather, so I am just going to point out the obvious here, about how you can do far worse things to random NPCs if you want, and how since we don't get to see the "thought process" of characters in a story, it's kind of unfair to attribute human characteristics to them beyond what's shown. Is there any lore on how ghouls are supposed to behave, and how much independence they keep? It might be a mix of new ghoul + life saved + Heather being kind of lost in her life.

As for ghouls having more vibrant personalities in general, of course it would be very nice. I mean, just having more conversations in general with Heather was something I really wanted to have. It's always nice to explore characters, if they are well-written, and with companions/allies, it's all the more interesting.

Sorry for the off topic :P

Oh, I hope it didn't sound like I was chastising anyone. It's not like I am a mod, either, and we are just talking about the games, after all. But since I understand Heather is an interesting topic, I wanted to put a break on it before we start talking about Bloodlines 1 more than Bloodlines 2. XD

This topic looks forward, to the future!!! (or something like that XD)

Unannounced feature I'd most like to see?

3rd person camera.

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies,
But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.

I hate horses (except those dead, they're good with fries)
Anyway, that was already announced (as not being present) :P
This topic is about not yet announced features. Like a face editor to choose your lineaments (like in the sims 2 and up) which I add to the discussion :vampwink:

Yet I will keep beating this dead horse, because I hold a tiny fragment of hope that it will be introduced, even in a limited way (vanity camera) :P

But yeah I hope they do give us a robust character creator, the preset models from the first game were one of the biggest downsides of that game.
