We got to learn a few things about the game through the various trailers, but is there something you'd like the game to have that so far hasn't been shown/announced, but that you think would be really cool? Something from the tabletop or from other games? It doesn't have to be something complicated, just something that you thought Bloodlines 1 was missing, for example. Not things you believe would never be added, just stuff you'd like that has a chance (in your opinion) to make it into the final game.

I certainly wouldn't mind a map of the city accessible at all times, for example. I am fine with interiors not having maps, but the map system for the hubs in Bloodlines 1 was rubbish.

I wouldn't hate a more "open" hacking system, with some gameplay to it, instead of a straight skill check and then a limited set of interactions. Not having to type commands would be great too, unless they plan to give some time sensitive events related to hacking. Then again, typying everything kind of worked with the "feeling" of the interface.

I wonder if I'd like a lockpick mini-game, or if I'd just find that annoying over time.

I'd like to be able to turn into mist to also go through bars (in  the gameplay demo, when the nosferatu runs away, I always feel like we should be able to chase him, if we can turn into mist, instead of having to go around).

I'd like to have more than one ghoul (although it should still be a very small number). I would love if we could pick someone that can actually help us through several quests (not in combat, but with info, or by unlocking extra routes).

I'd like to be able to call a taxi to move between hubs, instead of having to go where it is everytime (the taxi is just an example, in case they use the same method as Bloodlines 1).

I'd absolutely love to get to be part of the clans more (I get the impression they want to do that, but it's hard to tell how much that will play out in practice).

Those are just some things off the top of my head, do you have a list, now that you got to see some of what's in store already?

- if they will place a hacking mini game should give you the possibility to "skip" it (make it automatic) but with a penalty of time: for example, in auto mode it will take 15-20 seconds (more or less depending on your hacking skills), in manual it can be possible to take less time (the more skilled you are in hacking the more easy is to pull it out)

- about lockpicking I hope it will be possible to break the lock kicking the door down: more strong you are more chances for the door to not smash to pieces and doing damages to whoever is behind. Fuck yeah!

- a licensed soundtrack up to the majesty of the score by Rik Schaffer

- a graphic keeping track of your attitude to anarch/cammie/sabbat actions

- a pickpocketing minigame, companions, sexy moments not blanked out, illegal weapons, vampire grotesque humor (2 nosferatu 1 cup or tzimisce party as examples)

I think the auto-hacking could be a good solution, if they really added a mini-game there.

Kicking down doors would be pretty cool too, since it obviously wouldn't be stealthy, but it would give strong characters something to do against certain obstacles.

Was it confirmed that we can get involved with all the 3 factions?

I wonder how likely it is to have sexy moments out in the open, but I'd say pretty low. What would illegal weapons be like?

Please no mini games for lockpicking or hacking. I want to play a FPS/RPG, not a puzzle game!

I would like to have that option though! I always wonder why wooden doors can't be destroyed...

Okay so I have to share this... I actually asked Brian Mitsoda on Twitter if there'd be actual mature content in VTMB 2...

https://twitter.com/NateHevens/status/1142588148200988672

I'll quote the exchange...

Quote from: me
@bmitsoda I feel like I'm gonna get judged for this one, but I'm asking anyways. Is the mature content actually gonna *be* mature, or just a tease like the 1st one. And no, I don't mean violence/gore...

Quote from: me
@bmitsoda Obviously I mean for VTMB2... heh...

Quote from: Brian Mitsoda
Absolutely. There will be a dinner party where you need to figure out which fork to use for each course, a quest dealing with the ins and outs of escrow, and one conversation where a character had a recent medical scare and you both reflect on your own mortality.

You know what? This is a better answer than the one I wanted. Thank you. I'm officially sold completely.

Obviously it wasn't the answer I was looking for, but it was a perfect response. My question was ridiculous, and I deserved it. But I'm buying the game all the same, sexy/nude moments or not, because it looks awesome to me and I love VTMB 1.

That said, I genuinely believe that sexuality is an integral part of vampires in any medium. Removing that seems to remove a vampire's number one method of getting blood. Obviously it wasn't removed in VTMB 1, just... teased. I do actually think, in today's and age (with the latest Witcher games, God of War, Grand Theft Auto, etc), you could go well beyond teasing and still maintain an M-rating... otherwise it should be rated T for Teen. Which I'd be fine with the latter, but if it's going to be rated M, then they should actually go for it. You know... push those boundaries like other games have (and like I'm sure VTMB did back in 2004).

Anyways... I still maintain that Brian's response to me was far better than what I was looking for.

So... as for anything I want to see in the new game...

The console, actually. I hope we can sort of... access... the game the way we can with VTMB 1.

I also need to research again just how in-depth the character creation section is gonna be, because the more in-depth the better, IMO.

I can't think of any other feature off the top of my head, although I do hope more doors are open to us this time around (part of the reason VTMB 1 feels so small to me is how many doors there are that can't be opened at all... I do kinda hate that).

I am the kind of guy who enjoys mini-games, unless they become too repetitive, but I can see why others would prefer this wasn't a thing.

Wood is obviously stronger than vampires, just look at what a stake (through their heart) does to them. :^

Brian sure had a great answer (and it's especially nice to get a little teaser of what might be in the game, actually!) although I don't think your question was ridiculous. Sex remains a sensitive topic, so I don't think we'll see much at all. I think the games you mention are outliers (and GTA isn't even too explicit, anyway), it's hard to imagine Bloodlines 2 will have too much in the way of even "just" partial nudity, no matter if it could fit the themes or not.

I wish more locations will be open, but then again the majority of the doors are going to be decorations only (I assume), since you need a decent amount of buildings outside to have a sense of scale, but making content for most of them would be a LOT of work.

Sensitive, yeah, but I don't actually think those games were outliers, to be honest. I think they're a sign of where the video games rating system is now. I think you can go a lot further with an M-rating today than you could in 2004. So I'm hoping VTMB 2 actually does go a lot further. And not even just with sex/nudity, but with gore (I know a vampire drinking a human's blood is usually pretty clean, but you don't even really see the wounds in VTMB, and there's no way they heal that quickly).

Actually, I did think of something I want to see with VTMB 2... how characters, both NPCs and PCs, react to damage. Like, I always found it funny in the training part of VTMB, when my character gets shot by the Sabbat... I lose health, of course, but if I pull out to third-person view, my character's just posing like nothing happened. Jack even comments on the "potholes", but if you use the camera angles to try and look for 'em, you won't find 'em.

I'm hoping characters react better to damage and we can actually see that damage, even on PCs.

About illegal weapons: dragon's breath uses phophorous rounds which are outlawed by the geneva convention. Nice little bastards.

About minigames: I prefer them optional, going in auto or manual mode will only save a few seconds

I think it would be fun to see, but somehow, I stil don't think we are quite there yet. Most importantly, since these classifications can be arbitrary, devs probably try to play it safe.

Visible damage is an interesting point. Personally, I hope we'll get some "weight" behind the animations when hitting somebody, but having damage be visible on top of that, or even being able to say, hit a weapon and disarm the enemy would be cool. Kind of a way to even the odds if there are plenty of enemies with guns while you are a melee character.

Oh, wow! Yeah, I think those rounds would be pretty good against vampires. XD

Yeah. I don't think we'll get mini-games, actually (even if I might enjoy some of them), but having them skippable would probably be the best solution to accomodate everyone.

Troika already planned to include a Dragon's Breath in Bloodlines, lines of Mercurio show this, and with help from Lenuska I made it happen in the plus patch :)!

I should really try out more mods. It's just that when I do a new install, I tend to go for a vanilla+patch run first, then before I know it I ended up playing multiple characters already and it's time to put the game down before I die of old age playing it. XD

Whenever I have to play a new game (or suggesting someone to try one) usually I'll stick to restored content and non-excessive fan fixes on the first playthrough. You know, with the exception of the classic trilogy of star wars who would want to see an old movie through a corroded tape when a faithful remaster exists?

I'm not a huge fan of mini games either. Didn't like the lockpicking and hacking/dispelling in Mass Effect or Kingdoms of Amalur (I'm the worst in the Dispelling game).

A map would be great though. Even after my 20th something playthrough in VTMB, I still sometimes hit the M button to try and open the map (I played a lot of Dragon Age before - and Kingdoms of Amalur)

I'd like to be able to have companions, not necessarily ghouls (am I the only one, who felt pity for poor Heather and always lets her go mid game latest?). Maybe have some kind of relationships - ranging from ally, friend to maybe lover. That's really the only thing, I missed in VTMB. It always felt as if you are the loner, even if you had sided with Strauß or the Anarchs or even LaCroix (I guess, never sided with him).

I am a heathen and I actually didn't like the first Star Wars movie (I watched it decades after it first came out, and I think it's merely decent), so I don't know much about that, but I still heard a lot of people complain about the remastered versions and their changes, so I am not sure. XD

A map, at least for the city, would be GREATLY appreciated, I think. It's not like Bloodlines 1 didn't have a map, it's just that it was bad and wasn't readily accessible, so I hope they see it as fixing something. :p

Honestly, the only reason I let Heather go is because I know she can die, the first time I played I was already planning a romantic escape with her, before they pulled the rug from under my feet. XD

Yeah, having more permanent friends/allies/lovers would be cool. I think it can be hard to balance with everything else that is going on and with the themes (at least with Bloodlines 1), but maybe this time around we can get something more on that front.

The reason people hate the remastered version is that not only adds several changes but the director did all in his power to delete from history the original versions and make illegal obtain and possess them. Imagine if disney decides to delete from the market its animated classics and sell only the live action remakes and you can get an idea of this madness....
