Since devs officially confirmed modding support from the start i'm pretty sure we wouldn't have to wait too long for the 3rd person view mod, i probably hold myself off playing the game until the said mod comes out because VTMB was always a 3rd person view game for me, i never played it in 1st person.

It's a helluva lot more difficult to shoot in 3rd person.
Honey Badger and Leon S. Kennedy don't give a shit!~

It shouldn't have to be modded in, though.
Resident Evil 4 is probably my favorite Resident Evil. I did just beat the new RE2 six times in a row over the course of about two weeks despite normally being a play-once-and-never-again kinda guy with most games I get (if they're worthy enough to even merit my time for a single completion). It plays like RE4 did in regard to the shooting, except you can move while aiming (albeit slowly).

My favorite so far is still RE2.RE4 is an undeniable influence in modern third person shooters though. There's absolutely no getting around any of that.
It could be very hard to be modded in anyway, because as with Bloodlines' first person melee mode it's probably easy to change the camera, but if there are no suitable models and animations, this will be nothing that a modder can recreate in the quality of the original unless there is a trick to get it from other models...
If anyone here would know it'd be you, but given that there are other vampire NPCs in the game that walk/run/shoot/melee/use disciplines, shouldn't they have basically all of the required animations, and *then* some (due to needing to be seen speaking and interacting with the world by the player)?
